Really bad news for Northwestern as Kevin Coble went down with a vague "left foot" injury yesterday. They're saying that the best case scenario is he's out for a couple of weeks. Worst case scenario is that he's gone for the season.
Northwestern has never made an NCAA Tournament, and many believed that this would be Northwestern's best shot in a very long time. But if Coble is out for an extended period of time, they're going to have a really hard time scoring enough to keep up in the Big Ten.
Their only hope of making the NCAA Tournament depends on Coble coming back in no more than a few weeks. They've absolutely got to have him back before Big Ten play starts.
