W-15 BP65

I'm going to get a little bit behind on the game recaps over the next week or so, as my non-college basketball life is going to be a little busy. But the rate of match-ups between quality opponents does drop a bit in December as we'll be in the purgatory between the early season tournaments and conference regular season play, so I think you'll get by without me posting every single day.

Anyway, here is this week's BP65. Next week will be the first where I break down the teams that didn't make the cut into three categories. For the time being I'm still squeezing all of those teams into only two categories:

How come you don't have Richmond on your watch list? They're 6-1 and just won the South Padre Island Invitational, beating Mississippi State and Missouri back-to-back. The loss to Wiliam & Mary looked ugly at the time, but it doesn't look so bad now after they also beat Wake Forest. I'm not saying you have to have Richmond in the field, but to not even have them on the watch list seems a bit misguided.

You're right, they are off to a good start, and in retrospect I probably should have thrown them into the final category.

Next week I'll be adding even more teams to my watch list as I expand to three categories for the left out teams, and after January 15th I will start having an exhaustive list, where I will carefully go through each conference's standings to make sure I don't miss a single team that has any chance of making the Tournament as an at-large.

So as long as Richmond keeps winning, they'll get themselves listed.

are you making your picks based on preseason projections?

if not, how can you justify giving UNC a #1 seed and syracuse a #6 seed? syracuse blew out UNC. (SU also handled Cal, who is seeded higher in your poll).

Why not ask why I can justify Minnesota ahead of Portland?

Please read "About the BP65" so you can understand what this is a projection of.

Radford will win the Big South no question. VMI will live and die by the three. Parakhouski will be Conference Player of the Year. Just my opinion.
