You had said earlier that UCLA would remain a 1 seed after their loss. Why? They look young & inexperienced. Talent will only take you so far. I think they are a year away (not sure who they lose after this year).

The reason is because of the saying "There are no freshmen in March." It's the inexperienced teams that improve so much as the year goes on. And besides, most of the team is actually pretty experienced: Collison, Shipp, Keefe, Aboya, etc. The problem is that the freshmen they do have are just really raw.

It's just extremely unlikely that Ben Howland doesn't make these freshmen worlds better as the season goes along.

One final issue is that I don't see any serious competition in the Pac-10. At this point, UCLA is probably the biggest favorite of any of the six BCS conferences. If they run away with the Pac-10 and finish with an RPI in the top five or six, they're going to be a very likely 1 seed.

I think North Dakota State is ineligible for the NCAA Tourney. They are in their 3rd year of D-I. I may be wrong, but you should look into it.

That's a good question, and it's an issue that I did look into before the season started. This season they are indeed postseason eligible, for the first time since joining Division I.
