Disaster For Ohio State: Turner Out For 8 Weeks

Horrible news for Ohio State as star Evan Turner had a really ugly fall during their game this afternoon, and will be out for about two months. Evan Turner had been playing so well early this season that some analysts had joked that they might as well just send him the Naismith Award and get it over with.

This injury, of course, will have a tremendous impact on Ohio State's season. With how well they played out-of-conference, and the fact that they'll still be a fairly good team without Turner, it's hard to see Ohio State missing the NCAA Tournament altogether. But at the same time, I can't fathom any way that they make a run at a Big Ten title now. Their ceiling is now third place in the Big Ten, and they could easily drop further, depending on how well the Ohio State backcourt handles the added pressure, and whether Dallas Lauderdale can become more of an offensive focal point.
