Why do you still have Michigan State as winning the Big Ten? Purdue is 11-1 and MSU is 9-3. Maybe since you are from Wisconsin you might still be upset about losing twice this year, but just thought I'd check your reasoning.

I'm not quite sure why me living in Wisconsin would give me pro-Michigan State bias. But to answer your question, the teams in capital letters are the teams that get the automatic bids. Regular season titles have nothing to do with the Tournament, other than that they look good on the resume.

Michigan State's chances of winning the regular season title, as you correctly put it, are small. Purdue is the favorite right now, although I want to point out that there is a really good shot that the pressure gets to them. There are so many examples this year of teams getting off to quick starts to the top of a conference and then faltering under the pressure (Arizona State, Baylor, Cleveland State, and I could keep going...). It's far easier to win as an underdog than after everyone proclaims you as a great team. So, there is nothing saying that Purdue won't falter.

Of course, if Purdue does falter, Wisconsin is the most likely team to steal the regular season title. They have the sweep of Indiana, and they only have to play Michigan State at the Kohl Center, where Tom Izzo has never beaten Bo Ryan.

Either way, while I don't think Michigan State will take the regular season crown, I do think that they are the best team. And they probably will end up with the best computer numbers in the conference anyway. So I think that the Spartans will take the Big Ten Tournament title, and they will be able to parlay that into a #2 seed in the Tournament.

That is why I have them winning the Big Ten in my bracket.
